Philatelic Collection

The collection contains 35,807 postage stamps and philatelic material issued in more than 50 countries worldwide. Chronological framework of the collection includes 19th – 20th centuries. Among the objects can be mentioned particularly the following: Series of stamps issued by the State Enterprise “Posta Moldovei” during 1991 – 2006 (“State Emblem of the Republic of Moldova”, “National Flag of the Republic of Moldova”, “Moldova – a Member of the UN”, “Awards of the Republic of Moldova”, “Treasures of Museums in the Republic of Moldova”, etc.); Collection of stamps and postcards of Bessarabia (1812-1918); National chronological collection of stamps of Romania (1862-1976); General chronological collection of postage stamps of USSR (1918-1991); Collection of stamps of Bulgaria (1954-1976); Collection of stamps of the Republic of Cuba (1962-1981); etc.

Winter schedule: daily 10am – 5pm.

Closed on Fridays.


Entrance fees:  adults - 10 MDL, pensioners, adults with moderate disabilities / disability of the 3rd degree, students - 5 MDL, school students - 2 MDL

Free access: Preschool children (under 7 years), children from residential institutions, children (under 18 years) with disabilities and their accompanying, adults with severe and obvious disabilities (disability of the 1st and 2nd degree), military conscripts, official and cultural delegations (within the opening hours of the museum), employees of the national museum network, Ministry of Culture, and national institutions in the field of cultural heritage, ICOM and ICOMOS card holders.


Free Wi-Fi Zone in the museum: In the courtyard of the National History Museum of Moldova there is Wi-Fi Internet access for visitors.
