On November 30, the National History Museum of Moldova has the honor to invite you to the inauguration of the exhibition "Igor Vieru - 100 years since his birth" which will take place at the C. Brâncusi Exhibition Center.
The exhibition "Igor Vieru - 100 years since his birth" is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and is organized by the Union of Plastic Artists of the Republic of Moldova in collaboration with the National Museum of History of Moldova, the National Art Museum of Moldova, the National Museum of Romanian Literature, Chisinau, Ion Creangă National Children's Library and the artist's family.
In the framework of the exhibition, the National Museum of History of Moldova contributed a series of pieces from the museum's heritage, of considerable value, which outline the importance but also the uniqueness of Igor Vieru's works and personality.
The large-scale exhibition is based on the most representative works of easel graphics, studies, sketches, portraits of writers and book graphics, reflected in the book collection present in the exhibition.
The exhibition is a platform for the intersection of the fields: book graphics, printing, literature, a space for interference between plastic artists, writers, publishers. The art-loving public will have the opportunity to enjoy works of art and illustrated books by Igor Vieru, to watch the miracle of the transformation of the author's work into a book through polygraphic art.
The engraving and launch of the Igor Vieru medal - 100 years since his birth, is another component of this complex cultural event, which marks the importance and value of Igor Vieru's work for the current and future generation of artists.
The exhibition "Igor Vieru - 100 years since his birth" can be visited between November 30 and December 31, 2023, at the C. Brâncusi Exhibition Center, Chisinau, Stefan cel Mare și Sfânt 3 Bvd.
