Presentation of the book “The process of searching for policemen, soldiers and volunteers who went missing during the Dniester war of 1992" by Simion Carp, PhD, war veteran

On August 28, 2022, the National Museum of History of Moldova hosted a presentation of the book with an eloquent title: "The process of searching for policemen, soldiers and volunteers who went missing during the Dniester war of 1992" by Simion CARP, PhD, university lecturer, war veteran. The organizers of the event, the Stephen the Great Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the "Military Traditions" Public Association in partnership with the National Museum of History of Moldova brought together people interested in the topic addressed, as well as several veterans of the War for the Defense of the Independence and Territorial Integrity of the Republic Moldova. Those present had the opportunity to get acquainted with the new information revealed in the work, about the persons who went missing during the hostilities in the spring and summer of 1992, as well as about the moral and material problems that their families faced for three decades. The veterans present at the meeting confirmed the chronicle of the events described in the work and the realities recorded in the author's comments, reliving and mentally reconstructing the tragic moments they went through on the battlefield. The factual material published in the publication under consideration, i.e., archival documents, interviews with relatives of the missing and their comrades in arms, made an impression on each of those who managed to get acquainted with the work. The book is a true source of information for the whole society and for each compatriot in particular, serving both as a landmark of historical truth and as a significant proof of the courage and heroism of our people. In order to provide wider access to the information presented in the work, the organizers also arranged an exhibition of documents and photographs with references to the biographies of those who gave their lives for the national interest. The event was dedicated to the International Day of the Disappeared (August 30) and at the same time was conceived as a tribute to the Heroes who sacrificed themselves for the Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
