The National Museum of History of Moldova, in partnership with the Public Association "EcoContact," is organizing the photographic exhibition "Focus on Nature: Protected Areas Through the Lens", a project dedicated to showcasing Moldova's natural heritage through the art of photography.
The exhibition, inaugurated on May 22, 2025, will be displayed on the fence of the National Museum of History of Moldova and will be accessible to the public until June 20, 2025. This event is part of the project "Improving the Management of Protected Areas in the Republic of Moldova through Institutional Development, Capacity Building, and Habitat Restoration", funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with funds from Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and implemented by AO EcoContact and AO Ecological Society "Biotica". The project aims to strengthen institutional capacities for protected areas and promote ecological sustainability.
The exhibition highlights the beauty of three remarkable protected areas in the Republic of Moldova: Orhei National Park, Lower Dniester National Park, and Codrii Nature Reserve. The photographs on display were taken over the course of a year, capturing the diversity of these locations across all four seasons and emphasizing both their aesthetic appeal and ecological importance.
The exhibition features a selection of 25 photographs, each accompanied by an explanatory text, along with an informational panel about the project and the significance of conservation efforts. Through this initiative, organizers aim to foster a deeper connection between visitors and the natural environment, transforming each photograph into a call to action for preserving Moldova's natural heritage.
This event is part of a series of celebrations marking European Day of National Parks (May 24), Dniester Day (May 25), World Environment Day (June 5), and Nature Photography Day (June 15), providing an excellent opportunity to promote environmental conservation and responsibility toward protected ecosystems.
The exhibition "Focus on Nature: Protected Areas Through the Lens" can be visited between May 22 - June 20, 2025, on the fence of the National Museum of History of Moldova, Chișinău, Str. 31 August 1989, 121A.
