#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

„Japan – country of dolls”

May 30th – June 12th, 2016

Monday, May 30th 2016, at the National Museum of History of Moldova was opened an exhibition of origami „Japan - country of dolls", organized in cooperation with the Association ORIGAMI Moldova (coordinator: Lilia Socolova). The exhibition celebrates the International Children's Day. The exhibits were created by children attending the Origami workshop from the museum presenting one year of their work. One special stand shows the work made by Children Art Workshop from Vadul lui Vodă (coordinator Victoria Volînscaia).

Over 30 pieces are on display. They are made of colored paper and represent dolls wearing traditional Japanese costumes in a landscape made of flowers in the same origami technique. This is a fun and colorful exhibition, which takes us into the world of Japanese dolls and imprints a childlike joy into the souls of visitors.

The official opening of the exhibition was held in presence of several guests, including the interim charge d'affaires of Japan in Moldova, Ritsuko Inoue.

The opening ceremony included also a beautiful choreographic moment presented by the Children Ballet Studio „Solnîșco" and the Group of modern dance „Olius".
