The National Museum of History of Moldova and the HERITAGE 21 Foundation invite you to visit the exhibition The Spirit of Interwar Chișinău, on view from June to September 2025 along the fence on 31 August 1989 Street, in front of the museum's headquarters.
This event is part of Interbelic_Fest@Chișinău.RO, a major cultural festival dedicated to the city of Chișinău during the interwar period, organized by the HERITAGE 21 Foundation, the National Association of Young Historians of Moldova, and the Institute of Cultural Heritage.
The exhibition brings together a curated selection of archival photographs, illustrations, and documentary excerpts that capture the urban pulse, architecture, social life, and cultural atmosphere of Chișinău between the two World Wars.
Presented in a public outdoor setting, the exhibition panels offer a visual journey through a city that once was-elegant, cosmopolitan, vibrant, and deeply European.
This project seeks to restore for Chișinău's residents and visitors the visual memory of a city lost but not forgotten, one that continues to inspire with its urban spirit and cultural openness characteristic of a modern era.
The exhibition is part of a broad cultural program running throughout 2025, featuring thematic exhibitions, conferences, theatrical and musical performances, educational workshops, and artistic interventions in public spaces.
The Spirit of Interwar Chișinău will be open to the public from June 24 to August 24, 2025, along the fence of the National Museum of History of Moldova (Chișinău, 121A 31 August 1989 Street).
