#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

Annual Scientific Session of the Museum 2012, 22nd Edition

11 to 12 of October 2012

From 11 to 12 of October 2012 at the museum there was held the 22^nd Scientific Session. The session was opened with the speeches made by famous scientists and men of culture. There was presented No. 1 and 2 of the museum's scientific journal "Tyragetia" for 2012. The journal can be purchased in the museum shop. Academician Valeriu Canter, President of the National Council for Accreditation and Attestation handed Eugen Sava, Ph.D., General Director of the museum a scientific accreditation certificate which certifies that the National Museum of Archaeology and History of Moldova is accredited as an organization of science and innovation with all the rights to perform the activities on research, innovation and technology transfer on the profile of "Museology and the Research of the Historical and Cultural Heritage", with the assessment of it as a well recognized internationally competitive organization (category B).

After the opening there followed the plenary session. The works were carried out in two sections: "Archaeology, Ancient and Medieval History" and "Museology, Modern and Contemporary History". Session was attended by researchers and museum specialists from various scientific institutions, universities and museums. There were presented 70 reports focusing on various issues of museology, history, archeology, protection and research of cultural and historical heritage.¶
