#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

Thematic Activity „Eminescu on Politics”

January 15, 2025

On January 15, 2025, to mark National Culture Day, the National Museum of History of Moldova organized a thematic activity for 11th-grade students from "Liviu Rebreanu" Theoretical High School, focusing on Mihai Eminescu's perspectives on politics.

The event was structured into several interactive stages. Students had the opportunity to listen to engaging insights about the great poet's political views, presented by Paula Popov, museographer of the Public Relations and Museum Education Department. They actively participated by answering questions that sparked discussions about the relevance of Eminescu's ideas.

Following this, the students took part in a team-based game designed to reinforce the knowledge gained from the presentation while developing their collaboration and critical thinking skills.

The event concluded with a guided museum tour, where students explored the mini-exhibition "Mihai Eminescu in Medal Art, Cartophily, and Philately". The exhibition offered participants a visual journey into the cultural and intellectual universe of the poet through a selection of rare pieces, medals, postcards, and stamps reflecting his cultural legacy. This visual perspective allowed museographers to highlight the connection between Eminescu's literary work and the socio-political dynamics of his time, fostering a deeper understanding of his impact on national culture and history.
