The Romanian Cultural Institute "Mihai Eminescu" in Chisinau is organizing, in partnership with the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village in Bucharest and the National Museum of History of Moldova, on the occasion of the Universal Day of Ia, the exhibition "The wealth of the Romanian South. The shirt with altiță from Muntenia, Oltenia, Dobrogea and Southern Moldova" in room no. 2 of the National Museum of History of Moldova.
The exhibition includes 71 original pieces from the collection of Mrs. Marghiolița Constantinescu Rogojan, located in the heritage of the "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum in Bucharest. Mrs. Marghiolița Constantinescu Rogojan, plastic artist and teacher from the Muscel area, donated to the Romanian state a collection of over 250 pieces of traditional Romanian costume.
Being a common element of cultural identity between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, through this exhibition we are trying to make known the particularities of the high-waisted shirt from southern Romania, respectively from areas such as Muntenia, Oltenia, Dobrogea and southern Moldova.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday, June 23 this year, at 11:00 a.m.
The opening will be followed by a short recital by the well-known folk music performer Maria Sarabaș, People's Artist, the one who consecrated the folklore of the south of the Republic of Moldova.
