The bronze hoard was discovered on the territory of Mîndrești village, Telenești district, in 1968. It was identified accidentally by a group of students from the village school, and the materials later came to the attention of specialists at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences. According to documentary records, the hoard was composed of ten pieces: four socketed axes (celts), a dagger fragment, a sword fragment, a sickle, a winged axe, an adze-axe, and a chain consisting of four links.
Currently, of the mentioned assemblage, six objects are preserved in the collections of the National Museum of History of Moldova: two socketed axes (celts), the winged axe, the adze-axe, the dagger fragment, and the chain made of four links.- Socketed axe (celt) with one loop. The assemblage reflects a zone of contact and interaction where metallic forms of different origins and traditions circulated and were integrated into the repertoire of local communities.
Chronologically, the bronze hoard of Mîndrești is attributed to the Early Hallstatt period - HaA1, being dated to 1200-1100 BC.

"Harmony of Beauty. The Timeless Elegance of Azerbaijani Carpets"

May 18 – July 31, 2025

The National Museum of History of Moldova, in collaboration with Azərxalça (Azerkhalcha) and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Moldova, presents the exhibition "Harmony of Beauty. The Timeless Elegance of Azerbaijani Carpets", dedicated to the traditional art of Azerbaijani carpet weaving, one of the most refined expressions of the region's cultural heritage.

Organized as part of International Museum Day, the exhibition highlights Azerbaijan's textile heritage, showcasing the diversity of decorative motifs and the manufacturing techniques specific to each region.

Azerbaijani carpets have a long history closely linked to the development of traditional craftsmanship and the activity of Azerkhalcha, an institution that has played a significant role in preserving and promoting this field. Established on a tradition spanning nearly a century, Azerkhalcha collaborates with contemporary artists and designers to combine classical production methods with new interpretations of textile art.

The exhibition features carpets from the regions of Guba, Shirvan, Garabagh, Tabriz, and Gazakh, each with a distinct identity and weaving technique.

The opening event will take place on May 18 at 17:00, as part of the International Museum Day program. On this day, entry to the exhibition will be free of charge.

The exhibition will be open to the public until July 31, 2025, at the National Museum of History of Moldova.
