Opening of the Exhibition “Official and unofficial symbols of the Republic of Moldova”
Opening of the Exhibition “Official and unofficial symbols of the Republic of Moldova” took place on November 3, 2020, the day that marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Moldova.
The event began with a greeting speech by the Director General of the National Museum of History of Moldova, Eugen Sava, who noted the importance of organizing the exhibition in order to educate patriotism, dignity and appreciation of national values. Mr. Corneliu Popovici, Presidential Adviser, President of the National Heraldry Commission, in his speech praised the efforts to commemorate important events in the Republic of Moldova, including by organizing this exhibition. Mr. Theodor Candu, Deputy Director of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, partner in organizing the exhibition, in his speech stressed the importance of collaboration between museums for such actions. The same thoughts and intentions of collaboration were expressed by the director of the Mihail Kogălniceanu National Museum of Literature Mrs. Maria Șleahtițchi, who appreciated the effort of the organizers in promoting national cultural values. Researcher Maria Ișaev, who provided the organizers of the exhibition with a series of important materials related to Alexandru Cristea, the composer of the National Anthem, shared with the public valuable information about several persons who contributed to the development of culture and education in Bessarabia during the interwar period, including about the members of the Cristea family.
