The Chișinău Diocesan Girls' School opened its doors on May 3, 1864, addressing a pressing need: in Bessarabia there were no institutions dedicated to the education of clergy's daughters. According to the 1864 circular, teaching was conducted in the Romanian language, a provision applied throughout the diocese. The school's first headmistress was Anastasia Rizo, of noble origin, invited by Archbishop Antonie.

The curriculum, approved by the Ministry of Public Education and the Chișinău Diocese, combined theoretical subjects with practical training. Students studied religion, reading and writing in Romanian, Slavonic, and Russian, arithmetic and exercises in calculation, world history and geography. The program was complemented by church singing and practical skills such as sewing, embroidery, knitting, as well as household management - baking bread and prosphora, preparing meals and preserves, caring for livestock, and cultivating gardens.

The composite, taken in 1911 at the studio of Z. N. Sumovski in Chișinău, depicts 29 graduates and 13 teachers. At the center are portraits of Bishop Serafim (Ciciagov), headmistress N. R. Mihelson, teacher V. E. Bejerian, and priests F. Ghiliarov and P. Jurikas. Among the teaching staff was Paraskovia Vasilievna Cuciurenko, a calligraphy teacher for 37 years, who in 1911 became senior educator and assistant headmistress. For her dedication, she was awarded the gold medal "For Long Service."

On the reverse of the vignette is a label from the store and workshop of frames, paintings, mirrors, and window glass owned by A. D. Kon'gova, Chișinău, Gogol Street no. 37, near the State Bank.

This graduation composite was donated at the end of 2025 to the National Museum of History of Moldova by the Dadiștian family from Drochia.

The trilateral meeting of ICOM Romania, ICOM Ukraine and ICOM Moldova

On 17^th to 20^th October 2013, ICOM Romania organized in Ploiești and Bucharest the trilateral meeting of the bureau members of National Committees of ICOM Romania, Ukraine and Moldova. ICOM Moldova was represented at the meeting by Valeria Suruceanu, ICOM president, Elena Ploșnița, ICOM secretary, Tudor Zbârnea, Alexandru Levinschi - members of ICOM Moldova Bureau. On the agenda of the meeting was also the Sympozium „Traditionalism and modernity in east-European museography". Many topics of modern museography were discussed, highlighting the need of modernizing permanent exhibitions, change of museum attitudes towards the requirements of visiting public, need of social-psychological research and implementation of marketing policies in museums.

At one of the sessions ICOM Ukraine presented the project „What is the national cultural heritage", which will be proposed to ICOM Paris for a grant; the project provides for the organization of an international conference in November 2014 and an itinerary exhibition - both consecrated to 100^th anniversary from the beginning of World War I.

A special issue discussed at the meeting was regional cooperation between ICOM Moldova, ICOM Ukraine and ICOM Romania. Were analysed the results of the regional Seminar „Marketing in contemporary museum - achievements and problems" held on September 12^th and 13^th,2013 in Chișinău and which was organized by ICOM Moldova and the National Museum of History of Moldova with the participation of specialists from Romania and Ukraine. It was proposed the elaboration of common projects, documentation and exchange of experience internships for ICOM members, creation of a temporary exhibition including the exhibition „Icons from regional museums collections" (Ukraine, Romania, Moldova) etc.

At the meeting were organized visits to various museums from Ploiești and Bucharest, including Museum „CRAMA 1777" Valea Călugărească, Memorial Park „Constantin Stere", Museum „Conacul Belu" from Urlați, National Museum of Romanian Peasant, National Museum of Natural History „Grigore Antipa" etc. All these museums were presented as institutions which succeeded in the last two years modify their permanent exhibitions by creating new exhibitions from musicological and artistic viewpoint, using information technologies at maximum.

The next trilateral meeting was scheduled for 2014 in Cernigov-Kiev and will be organized by ICOM Ukraine, while the trilateral meeting from 2015 will be hosted by ICOM Moldova in Chișinău.
