The work is dedicated to baron Alexander Stuart – a biologist, museum specialist, and public figure from Bessarabia.

Being descended from a Scottish noble family by the father’s line and from the family of gospodar Constantin Moruzi by the mother’s line, Alexander Stuart inherited particular qualities which let him successfully participate in different fields of social, cultural, and scientific life of Bessarabia.

The given book aims to elucidate as well as possible these activities of baron Stuart.
