„Bauhaus imaginista”

7-26 August 2019

The National Museum of History of Moldova together with the German Cultural Center AKZENTE invites you on August 7, 2019, at 6 pm, at the opening of the Bauhaus Imaginista exhibition.

Bauhaus Imaginista is an international project made on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus School in Germany, which has become one of the most important trends of modern architecture and an international style.

In its approach, the exhibition includes research conducted by curators, texts and images arranged on four thematic and conceptual chapters: Corresponding With, Learning from, Moving Away and Still Undead. For this purpose, artist Luca Frei developed a structure - partly sculpture, partly exhibition architecture - as a space where visitors can interact with the objects of the exhibition. A central role in the installation is occupied by the computer terminal, from which visitors can browse the online magazine of the Bauhaus Imaginista and can print the materials as image or text.

A separate film program presents works by contemporary artists and researchers Kader Attia, Otolith Group, Wendelien van Oldenborgh and Zvi Efrat on topics related to the Bauhaus movement.

The anniversary exhibition Bauhaus Imaginista "100 years of Bauhaus" is a collaboration between the Bauhaus Kooperation Berlin Dessau Weimar, the Goethe-Institut and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kulturstiftung des Bundes. The curators of the project are Marion von Osten and Grant Watson, who also collaborate with an international team of scientists.

The exhibition will be open to public between August 7 and 26, 2019.
