#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

„Moldova - Our Sacred Home”

May 23 – 31, 2014

The exhibition was organized in the 2^nd floor hall of the museum, in collaboration with the Association "Origami Moldova", on the eve of the International Children's Day.

The exhibition brings together over 100 works in origami style, full of color and cheer, performed by pupils of the Chisinau high schools „Hiperion" and „Petru Movilă" and the Children's Art Centre in Vadul lui Voda. City Gates, Soroca Fortress, and Triumphal Arch - these are some of the most interesting creations of paper presented at the exhibition.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was accompanied by an artistic celebration entitled "Birds are back" dedicated to the Year of Dumitru Matrovschi, which was performed by students of the High School „Olimp", and a dance performance by the Popular Dance Ensemble „Miorita" (artistic director Valentina Cocea).
