#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 15:00, in the blue hall of the National Museum of History of Moldova, took place the book launches: "Cogâlniceni, history files", authors: Ion Ștefăniță, Aurel Morar, Lexon-Prim publishing house, 2022, and: "Gordinești, history files", authors: Ion Ștefăniță, Nicolae Ionichi, Lexon-Prim publishing house, 2022.

At the beginning of the event, the mayor of the village of Gordinești, Victor Duca, and the mayor of the village of Cogâlniceni, Vasile Popel, came with a congratulatory word. They emphasized the importance of the publication of these works for the history of the two villages and expressed their gratitude to the authors of the works for the effort done in the process of writing the books.

The authors Aurel Morar, Nicolae Ionichi and Ion Ștefăniță, in their speeches, told how the idea of writing these works started, they emphasized the value of local history and its valorization through such books. According to them, such books represent nothing more than an "identity card" of these villages, which contain valuable information and histories which should be known not only by the locals of Cogâlniceni and Gordinești villages, but also by anyone interested in local history.

The books "Cogâlniceni, history files" and "Gordinești, history files" represent a continuation of the series of publications - "History files", made in 2009, after the first edition: "Leova - history files", by Ion Ștefăniță and Ion Mititelu.
