#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

XV SYMPOSIUM OF NUMISMATICS

29-30 October 2015

The National Museum of History of Moldova, in collaboration with the Institute of Archaeology „Vasile Pârvan" of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest and the Numismatic Society from the Republic of Moldova organized from October 29th to 30th, 2015 the XV SYMPOSIUM OF NUMISMATICS, the works of which were held at the National Museum of History of Moldova.

The event was attended by numismatists researchers from Romania, Ukraine and Moldova. At the Symposium were presented scientific papers on ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary numismatics and heraldry and other auxiliary historical sciences, presenting the result of the work of these researchers. These papers will be published later and represent important contributions to studying the history of monetary circulation on the territory of Moldova from ancient times until the present and valorization of coin discoveries.
