#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

“Alexei Shchusev Square: Project Competition”

June 2-30, 2022

The National Museum of the History of Moldova will host the exhibition "Alexei Shchusev Square: Project Competition". The exhibition brings together 35 design sketches developed by students of the Department of Architecture of the Technical University of Moldova as part of the Architectural and Urban Project "Reconstruction of the interior of the courtyard of the Chișinău House-Museum of Alexei Shchusev", a branch of the National Museum of the History of Moldova. The sketches were made with the support of Ms. Sorina-Nicoleta Grati and Dr. Aurelia Carpov, Head of the Department of Architecture of the Technical University of Moldova, with the methodological support of Mr. Iurie Povar, President of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Moldova.

Visitors will have the opportunity to get acquainted with architectural and planning solutions and innovative technologies proposed by students for the improvement of the museum building, which is a historical monument, as well as evaluate the skills of future architects. The projects will be analyzed by the members of a special commission composed of representatives of the National Museum of History of Moldova, the Technical University of Moldova and the Union of Architects of the Republic of Moldova, which will select the winning project to be implemented by October 2023, when we will celebrate the anniversary of the famous architect.

It should be emphasized that the event is aimed at promoting young talents and is part of a series of events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Academician Alexei Shchusev.

The exhibition "Alexei Shchusev Square: Project Competition" will take place in the upstairs hall of the National Museum of History of Moldova, Chișinău, 31 August 1989 Street, 121A, from 2 to 30 June 2022.
