#Exhibit of the Month

The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

„Sweden, from A to Ö”

December 12 and 18, 2017

The National Museum of History of Moldova and the Embassy of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova is pleased to announce the exhibition „Sweden, from A to Ö" which will be presenting the Swedish alphabet in an attractive visual and amusing way.

The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Sweden in Chișinău on the occasion of an important Swedish holiday which anticipates the Christmas - Day of Saint Lucia.

Language is the gateway to a country's culture, the vocabulary a mirror of society. The Swedish alphabet consists of 29 letters, 26 from the basic Latin alphabet and several specific Swedish letters - Å, Ä and Ö. One word was selected for each letter of the alphabet that somehow represents Sweden and Swedes. From Allemansrätt to Ö, the words will help you better understand what life is like in Sweden.

The exhibition „Sweden, from A to Ö" will be open to the visiting public on the upper lobby of the museum between December 12 and 18, 2017.
