Invitation to the Commemorative Peloton

On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the signing of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact and in memory of the victims of the dramatic events that followed after August 23, 1939, the National Museum of History of Moldova invites you to participate in the Commemorative Peloton.
The event will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM, at the Open-air Memorial Complex in Mereni village, Anenii Noi district.
The Commemorative Peloton was initiated by the Sybir Memorial Museum in Białystok, Poland, in 2017. After 2022, the action extended to other European countries marked by the events that followed the signing of the secret protocol of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact on August 23, 1939, which divided Europe between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. This year, the commemorative event will take place in Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Białystok (Poland), and Mereni (Moldova).
