The historical site “Camp of the Swedish King Charles XII” (com. Varnița, Anenii Noi district)
The historical site "Camp of King Charles XII of Sweden" is located in the village of Varnița, Anenii Noi district. It received the status of a branch museum of the National Museum of History of Moldova on September 15, 1992.
Between April 1, 2016 and 1 May 2017, the museum researchers in partnership with the Women, Hope, Future Association (from the village of Varnița), together with the rural administration of Varnița and the Agency for Inspection and Restoration of Monuments have implemented a project funded by the European Union under the International Cultural Heritage Development Program CHOICE - Cultural Heritage: Opportunity for Improving Civic Engagement. The Project "Historical Site "Camp of King Charles XII of Sweden" at Varnița - Development and Promotion" is aimed at rehabilitating and introducing the historical site in the public use, through restoring the monument of King Charles XII of Sweden, the scientific and public development of the cultural heritage of the site, arranging the area related to the site.
