The National Bank of Moldova annually issues commemorative or anniversary coins dedicated to various historical events, prominent cultural and scientific figures, the promotion of heritage and cultural traditions, architectural monuments, the flora and fauna of the Republic of Moldova, etc. A significant place in the coin series of the Republic of Moldova is held by those reflecting key milestones in the formation and development of our country. These coins are the subject of this mini-exhibition:

The present report is a continuation of publication on pages of the “Tyragetia” journal information on coin finds found on the territory of Moldova. As last year, the report includes accidental numismatic finds and also archaeological finds. Six ancient finds and eighteen medieval finds have been included in the present chronicle. Roman golden coins found in Arionesti village, Dondusani region and Tirnova village, Edinet region, ancient and medieval coins from Costesti, Ialoveni region, Crimean khanate coin hoard and imitation of Ottoman coins from Ivancea, as well as coins found during archaeological excavations on medieval monument nearby Tarasova village.
