"Art & Women of Moldova" Festival
20 – 21 iunie 2026
The second edition of the "Art & Women of Moldova" Festival, held between June 20 and 21, 2026, was hosted by the National Museum of History of Moldova. The event, designed as a platform dedicated to promoting and increasing the visibility of female artistic creation in the Republic of Moldova, brought together visual artists, cultural creators, and a large audience eager to explore a complex program that blended contemporary art, public debates, and cultural education.
The first day of the festival kicked off with the official opening and the presentation of this edition's curatorial concept, followed by a public discussion focused on the role of women in art and society. The exchange of ideas between artists and cultural professionals highlighted the need for sustained support of local creators. The evening continued with the opening vernissage of the collective exhibition "My Beautiful Moldova", an extensive project for which the participating artists created works dedicated to national identity, landscapes, and core values. The first day's agenda concluded with an open-air screening of the documentary film "The Flower of Life", a profound journey into the spirit and living heritage of rural communities.
The second day of the festival focused on direct interaction with the audience and interdisciplinarity. The morning began with a painting workshop for beginners, offering 20 women and girls the opportunity to express themselves through visual language. Subsequently, the program included an art-themed general knowledge quiz, a conceptual fashion show by designer Kasandruța, and a live concert by artists Violeta Botezatu and Tania Cergă, with the event wrapping up in an atmosphere celebrating contemporary female excellence.
Through this edition, the "Art & Women of Moldova" Festival consolidates its status as a space for reconnection and reflection, proving that cultural identity is continuously redefined through dialogue and community solidarity.
The collective exhibition "My Beautiful Moldova" remains open to the general public until June 28, 2026, and can be visited in the ground floor lobby of the National Museum of History of Moldova (Chișinău, 121 A, 31 August 1989 St.).
