International Methodological Seminar „Woman in Universal History. New methodological approaches"

The National Museum of History of Moldova held on June 5th the International Methodological Seminar „Woman in Universal History. New methodological approaches". The event aimed to promote studies in the field of feminine history, a multi-perspective research of the role of women in universal history with the application of new methodological approaches.
History of women is a new interdisciplinary direction in contemporary historiography, a new discipline in humanistic science (history, sociology, demography, law, literature, etc.), which is neglected by the academic environment, especially in the post-Soviet space.
The methodological seminar was attended by scholars from the academia and university from the Republic of Moldova, Poland, Romania and Russia. Numerous themes focusing on the history of the woman from the beginning of the Middle Ages to the contemporary period were discussed, from the mythical image of woman to the personalities of political and cultural life.
The seminar was addressed to historians, writers, journalists, students, to youth and to all those who are interested and passionate about women's history. The program can be found here.
