"My Birth"
June 28, 2026
Dozens of families, future parents, and children participated on Sunday, June 28, in the "My Birth" event, hosted by the National Museum of History of Moldova. The event was dedicated to celebrating life, birth, and the family's role during a child's first years of life.
This year's edition held a special significance, as it also marked National Father's Day. During the "Fathers at the Microphone" panel, three fathers shared their experiences regarding their participation in the birth of their children, the challenges and joys of fatherhood, and how they actively involve themselves in raising and educating the little ones.
Throughout the day, future parents had access to presentations and discussions led by perinatal psychologists and obstetricians. Participants learned useful information about the birthing process, the partner's role during labor and delivery, postpartum recovery for women, and the family's adaptation to welcoming a new baby.
While the adults participated in informative sessions, the little ones enjoyed creative workshops, performances, reading, educational activities, and playtime in a friendly and safe space.
"My Birth" aims to promote informed birth, the active involvement of both parents, and the creation of a community that supports families from the very first moments of a child's arrival into the world.
The event was organized with the support of UNFPA Moldova and the British Embassy in Chișinău, partners who promote reproductive health, gender equality, and the active involvement of fathers in their children's lives.
