The present study is dedicated to the analysis of some aspects of the Metropolitan Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni’s activity at the Diocese of Kiev and Halich in 1799-1803. Thanks to the newly discovered archive documents more evidence about the activities of this prominent figure, whose life is linked with the history of culture of three peoples – the Romanians, Ukrainians and Russians – is found.
